Since Sir Keir Starmer became the Prime Minister more than 5,000 illegal immigrants have crossed the English Channel and have arrived at our shores.
The Labour government has been accused that they are “likely” going to make illegal immigration “worse.”
The Home Secretary has vowed she will crack down over the soaring numbers of illegal immigrants crossing the Channel and simply walking on to our beaches.
Yvette Cooper has claimed the government will deport over 14,000 illegal migrants by the end of this year, which means as of today’s date Labour has just 128 days.
Cooper claims, “Our new Border Security Command will work with European enforcement agencies to find every route in to smash the criminal smuggling gangs organising dangerous boat crossings which undermine our border security and put lives at risk.”
Former Conservative MP Damian Green told GB News that Labour needs “a deterrent” to tackle the mass migration.
GB News asked Green if he is “optimistic” over the government’s plans, he said, “No, this government will benefit from the decisions taken by the previous government about legal migration, such as family visas, that’s reducing the numbers.
But on illegal migration, on the small boats, everything this Government is doing is likely to make it worse.
Green then said that the government scrapped the Rwanda Scheme which cost taxpayers tens of millions under the Tories, but now Labour “have got nothing to replace it.”
He added, “They keep talking tough about having more people in some border command here. That’s fine, but actually all this criminality is happening in other countries where the British police’s writ doesn’t run.
“So that’s pretty second order stuff, you need some deterrent.”
