Nigel Farage has warned that there could be an “arrest” for Elon Musk as the founder and CEO of the Telegram messaging app was arrested in France on Sunday.
Pavel Durov, who is a Russian billionaire, was arrested after he was leaving his private jet at Leet Bourg airport outside Paris.
French authorities have provided no reason as to why the Telegram CEO was arrests, but French media are reporting it is to do with the messaging app.
It “is quite possible to bring” charges against billionaire Mark Zuckerberg who owns Facebook which was used by some during the riots, the “case against Julian Assange has shown this” also.
There is “no longer any freedom of speech” and US commentator Tucker Carlson who interviewed Vladimir Putin earlier this year believes Durov has been detained in France because he is refusing to “censor the truth,” he wrote on X.
Durov told Carlson in April that wants to keep Telegram “neutral” and “free from geopolitics.”
Tech billionaire Musk who owns X has publicly announced his support for the Telegram CEO hitting out at the French authorities arresting him using the hashtag #FreePavel.
Musk wrote, “It’s 2030 in Europe and you’re being executed for liking a meme.”
The arrest of Pavel Durov is worrying.
Telegram is a secure free speech app. It may have some bad actors, but then all platforms do.
What next… the arrest of Elon Musk?

Mirono told LondonLovesBusiness, “The arrest of Pavel Durov confirmed that there has been no European or even global (pro-Western) freedom of speech. No freedom for a long time. This is the subject of underhanded bargaining, and if the world’s bigwigs do not like the results of the bidding, anyone can be detained, arrested and imprisoned.
“The case of Assange has shown this, and the case of Durov now has confirmed it. Durov was wrong when he was afraid that he would be arrested anywhere but in the West.
“All those charges that were brought against Pavel, it is quite possible to bring Zuckerberg, for example. Only the latter does not have a Russian passport and has agreements on cooperation with the US authorities.
