Iranian backed Houthis rebels have footage showing them boarding the Greek flagged oil tanker, the Sounion which was abandoned.

The oil tanker was captured by the Houthis on 21 August and 23 of the crew onboard were evacuated.

On 23 August a fire was onboard the vessel and it was towed, there is around a million barrels of oil on board and there are fears of an oil spill.

The Yemeni Houthis carrying machine guns whilst fires were burning on the vessel then primed and placed explosives above the hatches on the oil tanker.

The video was released, and the Houthis can be hears saying, “God is the greatest; death to America; death to Israel; curse the Jews; victory to Islam.”
